Sat 1 Oct:

‘Christina’, Michael Wood’s Film about Mediaeval Codicote plus light supper - Booking essential via The Friends of St. Giles.

Sat 8 Oct:

Apple Day at Codicote Community Orchard, Bury Lane (opposite the church) 11am to 4pm.

Tues 11 Oct:

Thatching’, Robin Webb.

Tues 8 Nov:

‘Death and burial in the Victorian era’, Tom Doig.

Tues 13 Dec:

‘Customs officers, excise officers: history and recollections’, Alan Ruston and Christmas Social.

2012

Tues 10 Jan:

‘Short talks’, by society members.

Tues 14 Feb:

‘A Mixed Bag: old photographs of Hertfordshire & beyond’, Stephen Ruff.

Tues 13 March:

Annual General Meeting & short talks.

Tues 10 April:

‘Recent excavations at Norton’, Keith Fitzpatrick Matthews.

Sat 28 April:

Family and Local History Day - Peace Memorial Hall, 10am to 4pm.

Mon 7 May:

Beating the Bounds of Codicote - Meet 10am on the Hill. (opposite 'As You Like It').

Tues 8 May:

‘The Fosse Way’, Richard Thomas.

Tues 12 June:

Visit to St Albans South Signal Box.
Meet at the site at 7:20pm for 7:30pm.  Booking essential.

Tues 3 July:

Visit to the Hitchin Lavender Farm.
Meet at the site at 7:20pm for 7:30pm. Booking essential.

Tues 10 July:

Visit to the Great Bed of Ware, Ware museum.
Meet at the site at 7:20pm for 7:30pm.  Booking essential.

August:

Visit to archaeological excavations etc - dates to be arranged.

 
All meetings took place at the Peace Memorial Hall, High Street, Codicote, SG4 8XE unless indicated otherwise.
